Letter to donors from Ralph

Dear Donors,

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous donations to Cancer Services of Grant County.

In June 2009 I was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer. This was the last thing I ever imagined I would ever be facing in my life. I was 39 at the time, unemployed and taking classes at Ivy Tech to increase my chances of finding employment. I had very limited funds as I was told by a health professional to quit school and due to this I lost my unemployment. I had to wait almost 3 months to meet with a urologist and that made me crazy. How could I live knowing I had a cancer growing in me and nothing was being done to stop it for three months.

I was facing death in the eye and had no idea where to look for help. I started going through the phone book. I ran across Cancer Services of Grant County and called them. Jennifer answered the phone. She told me she could help me and invited me to come right over. I soon found out that this organization is the most wonderful gift I could have ever imagined. That was the most important phone call I have ever made. Jennifer made some phone calls and got my appointment moved up. CSGC Helped me apply for Medicaid, confirm my status with all of my medical providers, paid for my prescriptions until my Medicaid was approved and provided me with equipment to help me out at home. Jennifer and her staff knew how I felt long before I told them. They made sure I had everything I needed and even called and checked up on me. They helped me to understand my cancer, the side effects of my surgery and encouraged me throughout my cancer journey.

They were always and still are only a phone call away. I could not have faced my diagnosis alone. They were there for me every step of the way. Today I volunteer for CSGC so that I can give back and show my appreciation. I am proud to be able to assist others in their time of need. Thank you again for your continued support of Cancer Services of Grant County. Your donations touch the lives of thousands of individuals and their families facing cancer in Grant County. Cancer Services of Grant County helped me more than I can ever express. Thank you for your continued support. May God Bless you for your generosity during this holiday season.

With my deepest appreciation,
Ralph Tudor
